Strategies for Tinnitus: Cell Salts
Intrusive, Raging Tinnitus is Cruel and Unusual Punishment

Buzzing, blowing, roaring. Metallic ringing.
High-pitched squealing, rushing water or hissing steam.
Clanging, popping, non-rhythmic beating. Bells, breaking glass and even chainsaws...
These are the head noises of Tinnitus.
Tinnitus is a medical condition and it is usually described as a ringing in the ears. Yet, in reality, the condition is a sensation of sound that is not actually present in the external environment. Instead, these sounds are produced via the cilia and nerves that deliver "sound" to a deeper part of the brain.
Most people experience Tinnitus at some point in their lives. The percent of the population that experiences persistant Tinnitus is estimated at 17% to 30%. But for up to 2%, Tinnitus can be so severe and intrustive that these sufferers are forced to stop working and have lives - and heads, filled with cruel and unusual punishment.
Whatever term you use, intrusive or raging, mild or quiet, constant or intermittant, Tinnitus can severely distrupt your ability to function properly.
Tinnitus can be in one ear or both ears, or in the head. It can be a number of sounds altogether, and they can develop gradually or suddenly.
The condition is often associated with excessive dryness, and based on this theory, cell salts or tissue salts might help.
Cilia and Healthy and Affected Ears
In a healthy ear, sound waves move tiny hairs, called cilia, on your auditory cells. These movements trigger the cells to discharge electricity through the auditory nerve, and the brain in turn interprets these signals as sound.
In an ear affected by Tinnitus, if the cilia are bent or broken, they move randomly and cannot hold an electrical charge. Auditory cells "leak" random electrical impulses to the brain as noise(s) of various types.
There are two kinds of Tinnitus, Subjective and Objective.
Subjective Tinnitus is the type only you can hear, and it's the most common. It can be caused by problems in your outer, middle or inner ear. It can also be caused by problems with the hearing (auditory) nerves or with the part of your brain that interprets nerve signals as sound.
Objective Tinnitus is the type only your doctor can hear upon examination. This rare type of Tinnitus may be caused by a blood vessel problem, an inner ear bone condition or a muscular issue.
